February 14, 2013                  Youth Volunteers; the Why and How:  Some organizations love them, others don’t know what  to do with them!  Learn the benefits, challenges and tricks to working with this large pool of potential volunteers.

March 14, 2013                       Less is More: Small Ideas with a BIG Impact (fundraising and appreciation with little to no money):  Does the old saying “Spend money to make money” hold true?  Have you been wondering how to show appreciation for your volunteers with more than just words?  Get great ideas for heartfelt thank you’s that don’t break the bank. Share your ideas and be inspired by the creative members of DOVIA!  Bring examples of your gifts if possible.

April 11, 2013                          Recognition Awards:  Youth Volunteer of the Year and Volunteer Coordinator of the year:  Do you have a youth volunteer who’s commitment to your mission is outstanding and inspiring?  Nominate your outstanding youth to be recognized as DOVIA’s Youth Volunteer of the year.  The

very special Volunteer Coordinator award will be presented to a coordinator who goes above and beyond in the Sacramento area.

May 9, 2013                            Forging Connections:  How do YOU answer the question, “So what does your organization do?”  Learn how to effectively share what your organization does through an elevator speech.  Practice and network with other volunteer managers.

June 13, 2013                         **Special Training**  Attend a seminar provided by highly regarded international trainer, keynote speaker, consultant and author specializing in volunteer management, fundraising, leadership and board development, Betty Stallings. Volunteer and Staff Relations:  Learn how to bridge the gap and foster mutual respect and appreciation between staff and volunteers.
